1. INTENSITY: Be excited to present the cards. Have fun and be as enthusiastic as possible.
2. DURATION: Show the cards as quickly as you can. Go as fast as you can. The younger the child the faster you will need to go in most cases.
3. FREQUENCY: Remember to show the cards for at least four or five days. Our goal is mastery. We want the child to "own" these words, not just be familiar with them.
4. AGREEMENT: Do not start the program until the child agrees that learning these roots has value. Inspire your child by explaining why learning Latin Roots are valuable and important.
5. NO TESTING: Do not test your child! Do feel free to play games with the cards. Be sure there is no reproach for making an error. Our 100 page, colorful Latin Workbook is another way to reinforce mastery.
6. STOP: Always stop before the child wants to stop. This rule is crucial. If you want to make your child love this program make certain you stop showing cards the second you notice the child has lost interest.
7. When showing the cards it is usually better to hold them in one hand. Make certain the child cannot see the picture card while you are holding the word card. Your fingers should not be covering any portion of the word or picture.
