Welcome to our support hotline! It is our belief that parenting should be fun, at least most of the time. When parents also choose to play the role of teacher a whole new set of issues may arise that call for some extra support, advice, reassurance or ideas. This is not a place where we, the "experts", tell you what to do or what is the "right thing" to do. The only thing we are experts on is our own families, and we believe the only expert on your family is you. We will offer you our suggestions and support in the manner we would answer any friend. So look for our answers to be straight forward, supportive and understanding. If we have no clue how to help you with a situation we will let you know that too.
As facilitators for the 'Becoming a Love and Logic Parent' we have had the opportunity to learn some skills, strategies and tactics that have resulted in happier families. We would love to share with you some of the situations and action plans that have resulted from our training and our interaction with many different types of families. Ask us about behavior problems, motivation issues, curriculum suggestions or anything else that concerns you.
Like religion and politics, parenting and education can be sensitive subjects that elicit strong emotion from even the most benign people. Know that we believe there are many ways to get to the same place and know that at Avenues of the Mind our goal is simple. We want to change the world by inspiring people to reach their own potential. Every family has the potential to be full of love, support and fun. We started teaching 'Becoming a Love and Logic Parent' because we wanted to learn the skills presented in the program to help our own families. We are still learning and improving and we would love to learn from you and in return teach you any skills we have already learned.
