Each timeline is consistent with Chapters in the Well-Trained Mind Story of the World books and many other history curriculums that are studied according to historical sequence. Some facet of every Chapter in the Story of the World Books is depicted in our stickers. These beautiful stickers include dates and important names of people or places.
Why add a timeline to your studies?
Our timelines will clearly illustrate the most significant moments in history and show how these important people places and dates are related. Having children create their own timeline is a fun way to illustrate their study of history. Children will get to "see" and "touch" the history they are writing and reading about.
Most timelines are cumbersome, difficult to follow or offer so little information that they are ineffective learning tools. The "Avenues of the Mind" timeline is quite different from anything else available.
First and foremost, our timelines are effective in helping students put events in their proper sequence and interesting and clear enough to inspire the students to learn the information provided. Our timelines are fun! Children find them easy to use and follow. Each timeline easily folds up to fit in your normal history binder after a quick three-hole punch. A student who uses our timelines will easily identify important dates, people and be able to analyze and assess how past events affect future ones. When studying history it is easy for children to think events they read about happen in a bubble unaffected by the societies around them. Our timelines will clearly show how events are interrelated and affect one another.
